As soon as a Lego box is opened it depreciates in value. There is a variety of conditions that Lego Star Wars Sets are described as among collectors. Mint in the box means it’s never been opened. Used describes any set that’s been opened, whether or not it’s been put together or played with. For optimum pricing, collectors should strive to keep as many sets as possible unopened, in the box. It’s also important to keep the box from getting water damage, dents, or tears. A well cared for set can not only provide enjoyment but help collectors protect their investment.

Each collector has his or her own agenda, with most wanting to obtain limited edition designs or ultimate collector sets. Once Lego Star Wars Sets become discontinued, collectors can expect to pay up to five times the retail price for a mint condition set. With the original Star Wars sets being only a little over ten years old, there are no fast and hard price rules for many of the sets.

The current trend seems to be that older sets no longer in production can sell for double the original retail price. However, the same set that’s been opened and played with may be worth less than the original retail price. Mini figures of Darth Vader, Hans Solo, and Luke Skywalker are often times worth five to six times more than the original retail price. Even used boxes of the mini figures can be worth double the original price.

There are price guides available online from Star Wars enthusiasts who follow auction listings and fan clubs, which make pricing individual sets and pieces easier than just trying to figure out how much each piece is worth. Auction websites are another way to research how much sets are going for and whether or not used sets are making more than the original retail price. Flea markets, pawn shops, and thrift stores are other resources for pricing and finding rare sets no longer available on the mass market.

Lego Star Wars Sets were the brand’s first licensed product, with other movie franchises such as Batman, Indiana Jones, and Spider-Man following close behind. The Lego mania took off in 1999 when Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace was released in theaters. Lego toys for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith were also extremely popular when those movies were released in 2002 and 2005. The company also creates sets for the animated Star Wars films and shows.

Since the debut of the first sets, collectors have scrambled to procure all the vehicles, characters, and scenes offered by the Lego toy company. Lego specializes in recreating the larger ships and notable characters. Star Wars Legos are collectible because the company continuously redesigns the ships and characters to make them more movie-like. Once the company redesigns a piece, the original style is no longer produced and becomes more collectible than the newer pieces. Storm troopers are a good example of a redesigned piece, as the character has seen three different helmet changes and a color change since its inception.

      I love legos.
My favorite type is Lego City.
The reason I like it is because the vehicles as of construction cranes and fire trucks are cool and are used in real life.
I do hate Star Wars in my opinion but I used to like it.
My brother is always telling me not to buy it which I really hate when he says that.
      He is 17 years old.
I love collecting Lego City sets.
Should I stop collecting in which something I like doing?

Around the end of age 13 I found that Legos were just boring to me so I stopped playing with them. I loved just building them and constructing massive city’s. I never was a fan of star wars Lagos but yes I used to be. Your never to young to play with Legos many adults use them as a hobby or for a work of art. Legos will never get old. If your 13 and still plays with Legos that’s perfectly all right a time might come when you will just simply get bored of them. Your talking to a 16 year old football quarterback who made gun sounds and explosion sounds with Lego imagining things no one could come up with. I miss the old days. Never get rid of your Legos when the time comes put them in your attic and give them to your kids when your older or use them as a hobby when you have time. Legos were made for all ages not for kid 12 and under. Hope I helped! :)

Ok. So my computer really screwed up. My computer has a backup in it to where if the notebook gets overheated, it shuts down without warning or letting me shut it down myself safely. Well, this morning, I booted up a high performance game (Sims 2 including all of the expansion and stuff packs ever created) and forgot about it and went to run an errand. What’s worse, is I had taken off sleep mode, so my computer could not enter sleep mode either after a certain time. Well, I got back just in time to catch my computer’s screen going blank and then the sound of the game stopped, which always indicates that the computer is shutting down. So, I let it shut down cause I had no choice. Well, I waited a few minutes and restarted my computer. I went to get a drink of water and when I got back to my room, I had missed the option to start it up in safe mode, so it started up in normal mode. That may have been why it messed up. Well, here is everything that was wrong with my computer once I typed in my password and logged in. First thing I noticed is that the computer theme was set to Windows Classic. I went to personalize and it wouldn’t let me access the ability to change it back to Windows 7 theme. Unfortunate. Then, I noticed that my sound appeared to be muted. I tried to go to the sound setting to unmute it, but it wont even register a sound card. Then, I realized that my internet was not up. It wouldn’t even let me access my network settings to check my networks. The icon didn’t even appear on the task bar. I couldn’t believe it. And, my screen brightness was set to really dim, so I couldn’t even hardly see the screen. Now, with all of that noticed and nothing to be able to do with my computer, I decided I wanted to install Lego Starwars III on my computer. So I inserted the disc, ya know, and guess what? It couldn’t even find and run the windows installer service, so that was worthless. So the only thing I can do on my computer is write in textpad and notepad, or play Sims 2 with all expansion and stuff packs. It wont even let me install Sims 3 after I downloaded it from the internet. So I have no idea what to do. If a smart computer tech can help me out, it would be really appreciated and it would help me a lot. If you can help me, I am using my sister’s computer right now, and I will not be on much, so I only have a phone that can connect to WiFi. An Android phone. It is powered by google, so you can answer on here, but also please e-mail your answer to glenny3214@gmail.com. Thanks so much if you can help and I am really sorry for the long question. And if you are a fast texter, text your answer to 1-507-216-3488. I have unlimited free texting all around the globe with the aid of an app for android called textfree. Once again, thank you so much. Your help is greatly appreciated, and I can help you with game downloads and torrents and serials for those programs if you help me and even if you don’t, just send me a message to any of the provided info and I will get back to you. I am a whiz at those. Thanks again. :) Peace and God bless. :) And I do know a lot about computer games and stuff like that, so if you need help, ask and I will help if I can. Once again, thanks. :)
And I cant reinstall the OS because it is only an update. See, each new OS is integrated with the previous Operating Systems. Lets say, there is 3.1. Windows has 3.1 integrated into it. 98 has 95 and 3.1 integrated into it. 2000 has 98, 95 and 3.1 integrated into it. See what I mean? To reinstall, I would have to start from scratch. Very bad, and I hate Windows 7 anyways. I have always had problems since day 1, but then again, my whole computer has. Anyways, that is mostly why Microsoft sucks so much. They never start from scratch. Bill stole ideas from Apple and each time they create a new OS, they never start from scratch. I believe that if they just scrapped their whole Microsoft OS layout and program and started from scratch and spent alot of time and effort designing, and then alot of time and effort programming and testing before releasing it and double checking to make sure it is flawless, they would have a real winning OS. See what I am getting at?

You should have made a system image for back up.

        if not,
then i would say the best thing for you to do is re-install the operating system.

        .

i am a big collector of star wars lego sets and i was thinking that one day if my shelf fell over they would all fall apart? any other lego star wars collectors out there? do you glue your sets? thanks!!!

It’s a good idea to glue the sets together pirviding you don’t ever want to take them apart.

I have these cravings every now and again to just buy a new (star wars) lego set, then i realize i don’t have the money for what i want, the good hard-to-build sets. Why do they price them so high, they could knock them down $20 and i’d be more happy. *For models $50 and up.

first off…if you have ever stopped to do the math or looked Lego StarWars Sets are always higher priced then others…and because the demand is really high for them and they can get gullible or craved people to spend an arm and a leg for em.
